A more than 22% growth for AON Romania in H1
AON, the Romanian insurances brokerage company, has intermediated in
the first half of 2008, a premium volume of RON 58.03 million, which
represents a real evolution, in the national currency, more than
22.3% compared to same period in 2007.
Also, the company earned, in the first six months, out of the brokerage
activity, a total income of RON 5.9 million and a profit of RON 2.52
million, according to the results of AON Romania.
The company's portfolio is dominated by motor insurances, RON 33.35
million out of which is motor hull business, meaning 58% out of the
total in non-life, RON 11.48 million representing mediated premiums
for MTPL class, with a 20% share.
Other classes of insurances that have substantially contributed to
the company’s growth are the fire and natural calamities insurances,
that represent 12% of the total portfolio, with mediations of RON 7.03
million, and general liability insurance, that have a 5.8% share and
have generated business of around RON 3.36 million.
The company owns 5 local offices in the cities of Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca
and Timisoara, and has a team of specialists consisting of 40 people.
AON Romania is the new identity of the first general insurances broker
who has activated in Romania - KaRo Servicii de Asigurari, that was
taken over by the international broker AON in December 2005.
The shareholders of the company are AON Holdings bv and AON International
bv, based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, entities through which the mother-group
is controlling the operations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Pacific
Asia and Australia.
