AGEAS, former FORTIS, signed on the 26th July an agreement with BNP Paribas Assurance, which includes selling the life insurance and pensions operations from Turkey, the company announced in a press conference.
Bought in 2005, FORTIS HAYAT Emeklilik generated in 2009 a gross premiums income of EUR 62 million. The current operation, says the same source, is based on the rationalization of AGEAS activities strategy and is estimated to be finalized in the fourth quarter after obtaining the approvals from the regulatory authorities.
AGEAS is an international insurance company within the Top 20 companies with the same profile in Europe and operates on the European continent as well as in Asia.
