ASTRA-UNIQA obtained a RON 2.82 million profit in H1/2008
The insurance company ASTRA-UNIQA concluded the first six months of
the year in progress with a profit of RON 2.82 million, thus continuing
the growth trend of Q1/2008.
The volume of total gross written premiums (life and non-life) registered
by ASTRA-UNIQA in H1/2008 raises at RON 253.6 million. Non-life underwritings
of RON 51.33 million worth, recorded an increase of 34% compared to
H1/2007.
The biggest share is held by the CASCO insurance, with premiums worth
RON 106.65 million, increased by 67.77% compared with H1/2007.
The damages paid by the insurer had an ascendant evolution in H1/2008,
raising 87.09% from RON 74.5 million in H1/2007, to RON 139.10 million.
In the first six months of 2008, the company continued to develop the
property business lines by promoting the products CASASIGURA and CASASIGURAPLUS,
which have significantly grown.
According to the 2008 strategy, the ASTRA-UNIQA objectives refer to
the continuing development of voluntary insurance lines, to launching
new products of life insurance and health, to developing bancassurance
partnerships and to new sales channels.
