EUR 274 million underwritings for VIG in Romania
 In the first six months of the year, the companies from Romania members of VIENNA Insurance Group have underwritten premiums of EUR 274 million, down by 12.5%.
Underwritings on the non-life segment reached EUR 225.7 million, registering declines following the portfolio restructuring, aiming to focus on profitability.
On life insurance, underwritings grew by almost 40%, to EUR 48.3 million. This spectacular evolution is due primarily to the sales force of BCR Asigurari de Viata.
Before tax profit recorded by the four companies members of VIG amounted to EUR 14.3 million, 18.7% more than in the same period of 2009.
Considering the claims evolution, the combined rate exceeded 100%.
Currently, VIG has four insurance companies in Romania (ASIROM, BCR Asigurari, BCR Asigurari de Viata, OMNIASIG), after, in early July, it was announced the completion of the sale of OMNIASIG Life to AXA.
