EXCLUSIVE: Constantin TOMA, reconfirmed as President of OMNIASIG
 Constantin TOMA was reconfirmed on 21st of October as the President of OMNIASIG. Meanwhile, VIENNA Insurance Group has renewed the mandate of the entire Directorate of OMNIASIG. The information was confirmed for the XPRIMM Newsletters by Alexander JEDLICKA, Corporate Communications CEE at VIG. The duration of the new mandate of the President of OMNIASIG is 4 years.
Also, Constantin TOMA will continue to exercise the function of Chairman of PAID.
At ICAR Forum, Constantin TOMA expressed the possibility that companies members of VIG to join PAID. "The decision regarding the entrance of the companies members of VIENNA Insurance Group in PAID has not yet been taken. Considering the legislation provides that the insurers can join PAID even after its creation, I can say that there are all prerequisites for VIG to join PAID, but I do not exclude the decision not to join the Pool", the President of OMNIASIG said.
Constantin TOMA owns one of the most respected managerial positions in the Romanian insurance market, also being one of the few leaders who broke into a top position coming from outside the industry. TOMA managed to bring OMNIASIG, since the beginning of its activity, with one branch and 12 employees, to the current status, when it is recognized as one of the major players. During this process, the company leader stated himself as the most "aggressive" manager in the modern history of the Romanian insurance, its policy of mergers and acquisitions representing a new managerial culture of the industry.
Graduate of the School of Officers Nicolae Balcescu, Specialization Finance, class of 1983, leader of the OMNIASIG group, he worked first in the Autonomous Administration ROMAVIA, where he held the position of Chief Accountant, then becoming General Manager of the company TORA MOTOR Ltd., a familiar name in the field of industrial equipment. In 1995, he made his entrance in the insurance industry, along with the establishment of the insurance-reinsurance company OMNIASIG, whose leader he was from the very beginning.
