The company MOLDASIG received the approval of the Insurance Supervisory
Commission (ISC) for the acquisition of 99.9% of the shares of ASITO
Kapital in Romania, according to the Moldavian insurer's officials. The
decision comes after four months ago, the supervisory authority in
Moldova - National Commission of Financial Markets - had also approved

Following reorganization activities of EULER Hermes (EH) in Europe,
starting October 1st, the activity of the new branch of EULER Hermes in
Romania, namely EH Credit Insurance Belgium Bruxelles, Bucharest Branch,
was launched. It will replace the German branch (EH
Kreditversicherungs'AG Hamburg), whose activity ceases with the same
date, and will undergo in the coming months a rebranding process, to
align with the name EULER Hermes Europe. The company also announced its
intention to transfer the entire insurance portfolio in Romania of the

The MTPL policies prices represent one of the main sources of concern
for brokers and insurers. "Exchange rate depreciation and inflation
pressures are other factors that should influence the MTPL tariff level,
because their fluctuations are directly reflected in the claims cost.
Last year, for example, if we were to consider only the increase of VAT
and we still should have seen an increase of prices practiced for this

The cumulated value of gross written premiums on motor insurance in the
first half of 2011 of member companies of the major European insurance
groups present in Romania (ALLIANZ, GENERALI PPF, GROUPAMA, VIENNA
Insurance and UNIQA) was EUR 372.2 million. The figure represents 72.3%
of all businesses registered in the motor insurance market (Motor Hull,
MTPL and Green Card, added up), up 3 percentage points compared to the
first six months of 2010. Last year, the market share of major profile

In the first six months of 2011, the number of claims files approved as a result of road accidents caused on the Romanian territory by vehicles registered in Bulgaria has increased by 31% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,798 files, said Mona CUCU, Director of Mandatory Insurance Department of the ISC. Meanwhile, in 2010, over 10,000 claims on Green Card have been accounted for, of which 3,155 were produced by cars from Bulgaria.more...
