Marinela NEMES, ISC: "The fine is not the only penalty"
 "The law regarding compulsory home insurance has a very high social significance and time has shown that the insurance premium is not a tax. There have already been granted compensations to those who suffered damages", said Marinela NEMES, Director of the Legal Department, Insurance Supervisory Commission.
"As I have said before, the fine is not the only penalty. The most important penalty is the fact that when one of the risks occur, one won't receive a compensation from the government or from the local authorities", Marinela NEMES added.
Regarding the procedure of applying the fine, the law provides a set of gradual steps. After the city halls provide the actual statistics about the homes to PAID, they are analyzed and based on that data the city halls send notifications to those who are found uninsured. After the notification they will receive the fine.
