Premier BOC to coordinate EU funds absorption
The Authority for the Coordination of Structural Instruments (ACIS) will be placed under the Finance Ministry's subordination and the Prime Minister's direct coordination in order to monitor the absorption of European funds, PM Emil BOC announced on the 9th of February, 2011. During the Government meeting, the PM asked for the procedures entailed by this transfer to be quickly finalized.
ACIS is the national coordinator of EU funds. As national coordinator of the non-reimbursable funds offered by the European Union, ACIS has prerogatives and responsibilities in what concerns pre-accession financial assistance as well as the coordination of structural and cohesion funds. On the other hand, the Premier added that the Finance Ministry and the National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF) have to periodically inform companies that January's single statement on fiscal obligations can only be filed on February 7th-25th, in order to avoid overcrowding, and to analyze the option of having the statements filed quarterly, not monthly.
