Three Romanian insurers, in Top 20 general insurance in Central and Eastern Europe
After the first six months of this year, the companies ALLIANZ-TIRIAC, OMNIASIG and ASTRA are placed among the first 20 companies (by gross written premiums volume criterion) in the region. They occupy the places 13, 15 and 20, according to "CEE Markets Survey", a complex report of analysis made by PRIMM Insurance & Pensions Magazine regarding the insurance markets of the countries belonging to the space of Central and Eastern Europe.
Worthy to mention is that, in the top 10 companies, there are three that are active in the profile markets in Poland - PZU (number 1), TUiR WARTA (8th place), STU ERGO HESTIA (9th place), respectively two in the Czech Republic - the occupants of the 2nd and 3rd place: CESKA Pojistovna and KOOPERATIVA Pojistovna VIG. For life insurance, Romania has no representatives among the top 20 companies at regional level: the highest ranked local companies are ING Asigurari de Viata (27th place), AIG Life (51st place) and BCR Asigurari de Viata (57th place). At the same time, it is noted the large number of Polish companies present in the top 10 on this segment - 8.
"CEE Markets Survey", a comprehensive report on the evolution of insurance markets in Central and Eastern European countries after the first half of 2009, published in the No. 12/2009 of the PRIMM Insurance & Pensions Magazine, will be launched on October 25, 2009, at the Baden-Baden XPRIMM Symposium.
